William S. and Margaret I. Marvin Scholarship Helps 17 Students Take Next Step Toward College

Recipients awarded for academic achievement, community service and involvement

WARROAD, Minn., May 23, 2016—Education is the cornerstone of a strong community, and this year, 17 students of Warroad High School will pursue higher education thanks to an endowment fund by William S. and Margaret I. Marvin. It was Bill and Margaret’s passion and commitment to community that inspired this generous gift established in 2007.

This year, 17 Warroad High School seniors have been awarded scholarships based on their academic achievements, civic-related community service, and active participation in school-related activities. Recipients will receive up to $9,800 to cover educational expenses at a four-year college or university, or $5,430 for two-year community or technical school costs. Scholarships may be renewed each year, extending the impact of the scholarship through the completion of a student’s college career.
